From Vision to Reality: The Laneway Links Story
Let’s be honest. Many hospitality concepts fail. Why? Because having a vision is cute, but execution is far more complex.
I’m not in the business of crushing dreams, but I am here to help with a little honesty and shape that vision into something even better: reality.
The Laneway Links Story: A Testament to Collaboration and Commitment
Two years ago, William Watt approached me with an intriguing concept: an inner-city golf clubhouse revolving around simulator golf technology. Interesting, but could it work in the real world?
Here’s how we tackled the challenge together:
1. Business Modeling: I asked the tough questions, not to discourage, but to strengthen the foundation.
2. Financial Forecasting: We crunched numbers until they begged for mercy, ensuring a reality-based model.
3. Constructive Challenging: I provided both encouragement and critical analysis, always aiming for improvement.
4. Brand Storytelling: Together, we crafted a narrative as engaging as the experience itself.
Why I Think Laneway Links Will Work:
It understands its audience intimately. It’s not for everyone, and that’s the point. Niche understanding = cult following.
In a world of artificial experiences, it offers something genuinely authentic and meets the needs of its intended audience.
It offers high replay value, which will build a loyal following. (Unlike other activity-based hospitality concepts.)
The financials are solid (I made sure of that).
The marketing strategy is innovative and cutting-edge. (This video is testament to that).
The Founder William Watt has the hospitality chops and a proven track record of launching aspirational brands onto the global golf stage.
The Thrive Hospitality Approach:
I don’t claim to have all the answers. But I do know how to ask the right questions and work alongside visionaries to turn “what ifs” into “what’s next.”
Laneway Links isn’t just Will’s success or mine. It’s a testament to what happens when bold ideas meet collaborative planning.
